Henry Williams & Son (Roads) Ltd has been a family-owned business for five generations, with a history in road construction and highways maintenance stretching back to the 1860’s. Our pride in the company’s history along with our widespread experience, innovative approach, and personal commitment ensures we provide our clients with the highest standards of service.

We have bespoke, sustainable solutions to solve new build and maintenance challenges for all types of infrastructure and the road network. We work for a variety of private and public sector clients, taking on the role of Principal Contractor, and we also work for Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors, in a subcontractor role.

The diverse range of services we offer, including our ‘specialist’ low carbon, best value surface treatments, are as follows (note, all items except 1, 2 and 3 are carried out nationally).

1. Civil Engineering – S278/S38 highway works, car parks, footway/cycleways, and external works.
2. Asphalt Macadam Surfacing – machine, hand lay and patching.
3. Fencing – all types of steel and timber plus pedestrian guardrails.
4. Bond Coating and Vertical Joint Sealing for Asphalt Macadam Surfacing.
5. Asphalt Preservation (RHiNOPHALT) – low carbon solution to prolong the life of the pavement/airfield.
6. Surface Dressing – carriageway, car parks, footway, decorative, parks and towpaths.
7. Retread – low carbon solution for shallow depth in-situ pavement recycling to carriageways, footways, or car/lorry parks.
8. Target Surface Dressing – localised dressing for areas of fretting or open joints.

In terms of our environmental credentials, we’re fully certified with Planet Mark and via our 100KW PV arrays, we self-generate 120% of our own green electric, so we’re future-proofed for our ongoing environmental plans. We also run 5 company hybrid electric and 4 fully electric vehicles, with plans to switch some of our vehicle fleet, including HGV’s, to Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) within the next few months.
